Cooma's Lambie Street Preschool is a community based, not for profit preschool, that has been providing quality early childhood education to the Monaro region for 60 years.

Our aim is to create an environment that is safe and welcoming for our children and their families.  Our environment is both stimulating and supportive, catering to children's varied interest, abilities and needs.  

With qualified, dedicated and energetic early childhood educators, we encourage exploration, imagination and discovery.

Play is a valuable and important medium for learning and development.  It provides children with opportunities to observe, explore, experiment, problem solve, discover and play co-operatively.  

Play enables children to express and test out their ideas, learn form others and provides a platform for life long learning.

Belonging, being, becoming

The Early Years Learning Framework has been developed by the Council of Australian Governments to assist educators to provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation of success in learning.  Lambie Street Preschool uses the framework in conjunction with the National Quality Framework and the Education and Care Services National Regulations to ensure that a quality education program is offered to all children attending the service.

The Early Years Learning Framework focuses on the following five learning outcomes:

• Children have a strong sense of identity

• Children are connected with and contribute to their world

• Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

• Children are confident and involved learners

• Children are effective communicators.
